He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest "Red" Lance and Gladys Smith; and his former wife Hannelore W. Lance. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lance of Columbia, S. C.; his daughter Natascha Lance of Virginia; his son-in-law Bernd Arztenhofer of Bavaria, Germany.; his granddaughters, Emma Natascha Lance and Madison Bailey Cabe of Penrose, NC.; and his brother Wayne Lance of Etowah, NC..
