He is survived by: his wife Joanna Shipman Byrd; his children, Kim Rogers (Steve) of Brevard, Kenny Byrd (Sheila) of Brevard and Lisa Dobbins (Al) of Mills River; his grandchildren, Micah Rogers (Laurin), Jasmyn Denton (Lyle), Anna Travieso (Oliver), Brittany Byrd, Will Byrd, Katherine Purcell (Nathan), Emily Barnes (David) and Breanna Dobbins; his great grandchildren, Judah, Ezra, Ada, Lucas, Evan, Olivia, Lola and David; and his brothers, Jim Byrd of Breavrd and Porky Byrd of Athens, GA..
