He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph Floyd Rackley; his wife Velma Lakey Rackley; his son Joseph Charles Rackley; and his siblings, Donald Rackley, Reuben Rackley, Robert Rackley and Clara Rackley Cothran.
He is survived by: his parent Jewel Johnson Rackley; his daughter Deborah Rackley Schlunz (Jim) of Winston-Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Samuel Schlunz of Raleigh, NC and Kate Schlunz of New York, NY; his brother James Aubrey Rackley of Lake Toxaway, NC; and his sister-in-law Faye Lakey Cole (Max) of Knoxville, TN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
