He was predeceased by: his mother Stella Owen Kitchen; his wife Thelma Louise Kitchen; his grandchildren, Marlee Kitchen and Jordan Kitchen; his daughters-in-law, Sheila Powell, Jessie Thomas and Brook Kitchen; and his mother Julie.
He is survived by: his caregiver Betty Stamey; his sister Donna Vee McCoy of Kalamazoo; his close friend Betty Stamey; and his sons, Gary Kitchen of Brevard, NC, Rodney Kitchen (Bonnie) of Brevard, NC, Rickey Kitchen (Kathy) of Brevard, NC, Terry Kitchen of Brevard, NC, Kevin Kitchen of Brevard, NC and Shannon Niven of Brevard, NC. He is also survived by 5 sons and their spouses, his 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
