He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Owen Brinkley; and his parents, A. P. Brinkley and Martha Moody Brinkley Turbyfill. He is survived by: his children, John Walter (Danette) and Amy Brinkley Bennett (David); his grandchildren, Walter Cade Brinkley, Madison Lark Brinkley, Aaron Blake Bennett and Aiden Clark Bennett; and his siblings, Edward Brinkley of Gary and Jean Turbyfill Ollis of Elk Park, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
