He was predeceased by: his father Dr. James H. Sanders; his sons, Jamie and John Sanders; his sister Ann Campbell; and his grandson Allen Ramsey.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Allison; his daughter Allison Sanders Ramsey (Barton); his daughter-in-law Cinthia Aspinwall Sanders; his grandchildren, Hillary Dabney (Brian), James Ramsey (Rebecca), Elizabeth "Fizzy" Ramsey (Kristen), Ryan Sanders, Dale Williams (Travis), Hannah Sanders and Adam Sanders; and his great grandchildren, Bart, Claudia, Millie, Kurt, Preston, Madelyn, Layla and Sage.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Unitarian Universalists of Transylvania County or Four Seasons Hospice.
