Frances Gillespie Waldrop Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Gillespie Waldrop (Brevard, North Carolina), born in Rosman, North Carolina, who passed away on March 3, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leander Gillespie and Annie Gillespie; her husband Hovey E. Waldrop; her son-in-law George Miller; her grandson Levi Bryson; and her siblings, Ted, Jason, Hugh, Robert and Lila Stafford.

She is survived by: her daughters, Martha Steil (Frank) of Chattanooga, TN, Rachel Miller of Brevard, Lucy Bryson (Bill) of Pisgah Forest and Lynn Rathbone (Dan) of Clyde, NC; her siblings, Lester Gillespie (Shirley) and Grace Leonard (Jack); her sister-in-law Ann Gillespie; and her grandchildren, Kristy, Stacey, Tracey, Patrick, Heather, Katie and Laura. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain Care Adult Daycare (formerly KOALA) at 242 Medical Park Drive, Brevard, NC 28712 which provided Frances with great care and enjoyment.
