He is survived by: his children, Rick Patterson (Sharron) of Brevard, NC, Jack Patterson of Brevard, NC and Carole "Cricket" Roberts (Charles) of Brevard, NC; and his siblings, Coy Patterson (Barbara) of Oklahoma, Jerry Patterson (Ruby) of Brevard and Lois Owen of Brevard. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
