He was predeceased by: his parents, Perl Wade and Effie Townsend Payne; and his siblings, Gary Payne, Sally Burelson and Charles Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Payne; his children, Kenneth Payne (Cheryl), Michael Payne, Cynthia Ferrell (Eric) and Linda Stonebreaker (Richard); and his siblings, Virginia Hafkemeyer, Betty Jean Williams (Dean), Zola Idol (Joe), Doris Owenby and James Payne (Doris). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
