He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Butler Tyler and John Tyler of Enfield, CT; his daughter Rebecca Tyler; his son-in-law Erik Johnson; his son B. David Tyler, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Michelle Tyler; and his granddaughters, Maura and Clara.
The wide circle of friends with whom he stayed in touch sustained him through the pandemic and the course of his cancer treatment.
