He is survived by: his wife Shirley Anderson Owens of Pine Log; his son Danny; his daughter-in-law Donna Owens of Hiawassee; his daughters, Shelia (Gerald McGaha) and Tracy (Kevin Davis); his sisters, Aline Tanner of Hayesville, Helen Crone of Warne, Katie Cotton Hayesville, Gladys (Charles Gibson) and Margie Ingram of Blairsville; his grandchildren, Tiffany, Hillary, Jade, Hannah, Jordan, Brandon, Peyton and Kortney; and his great grandchildren, Walker, Hunter, Brooks, Wren and Ansley. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
