Murray; his daughter-in-law Lora Hoppes Murray of Ellenboro; his siblings, Louise Murray Gettys of Hollis, Lester Wayne Murray of Mooresboro, Eunice Murray Hoppes of Bostic, Ruth Murray Arrowood of Bostic and Betty Murray Smith of Bostic; his close friend Peggy Owens Murray of Bostic; his grandchildren, Gideon Wayne Millwood and Sarah Elizabeth Millwood; and his stepgranddaughter Katie McFarland.
