He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Adolph Sandstrom and Bertha Smith Sandstrom. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Louise Sandstrom; his daughters, Kimberly Louise Alacan (Eddie) of DeBary, FL and Melissa Louise Reed (Jay) of Starkville, MS; his siblings, Judith Lester (James) of Port Charlotte, FL, Janice Roberg (Dennis) of Lakewood, NY, Carl Sandstrom (Sally) of Jamestown, NY and Steven Sandstrom (Penny) of Ventura, CA; and his grandchildren, Olivia Louise Morgan (Marcus), Jacob Franklin Reed, Lauren Louise Reed and Emma Louise Alacan. He is also survived by his four grandchildren.
