He was predeceased by: his parents, J. E. Yelton and Prue Parker Yelton; his wife Gail S. Yelton; and his sister Wanda Tuck. He is survived by: his children, Jasper L. Yelton Jr. (Jennifer) of Lawndale, Jessica Sears of Kings Mountain and Amber Y. Lovelace (David) of Golden Valley; and his siblings, Alvin Yelton (Janie) of Golden Valley, David Yelton (Ida Mae) of Golden Valley and Judy Hinson of Cherryville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service (359 E Church St, Bostic, NC 28018). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church (5083 Bostic Sunshine Hwy, Bostic, NC 28018).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Homes for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565, or Fairview Baptist Church, 4350 NC Hwy 226, Bostic, NC 28018, or Mt. Harmony Baptist Church, 5083 Bostic Sunshine Highway, Bostic, NC 28018.
