He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoyt Mode and Zelma Grace Sailors Mode; his wife Gail Marie Mode; his son Joel Scott Mode; his grandson Joshua Pruett; and his brothers, Boyce and Jack Mode.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kelly Pruett of Bostic and Sonya Mode of Forest City; and his sisters, Hazel Ayers (Bobby) of Caroleen and Donnis White of Shelby.
