He is survived by: his wife Hazel Clement Pendry; his children, Jennifer Hobson (Darrell) and Stephanie Byrd (Barry); his grandchildren, Ashley, Avery Hobson, Brandon and Nichole Byrd; and his siblings, Dot Wishon (Harvey), Janice Willard, Ruth Matthews (Carl) and David Pendry (Julie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road Boonville, NC 27011.
