He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Snow Hobson and Frank Wilson Hobson, Sr.; and his former wife Linda H. Hobson. He is survived by: his wife Lenna H. Hobson; his son Frank W. Hobson, III; his sister Anne H. Eastman; his stepchildren, Robin E. Turner and Bradley C. Edwards (Lori); and his stepgrandsons, Tanner C. Edwards, Reid H. Turner, Jackson R. Turner and Hugh B. Turner. He is also survived by cousins, in-laws, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you honor Frank's wishes in supporting the Children's Home Society of NC, PO Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.

“Zeke was my company commander at Oak Ridge Military Institute in 1965. I was a sixteen year old sophomore in "Charlie Company." Though some five years my senior, for reasons I'll likely never understand, he and I became friends and once went awol late one evening to Highpoint, NC, returning before 4am the next morning. A night I've never forgotten. He probably needed a driver and I happily agreed. I'll always cherish his mentoring however unusual it may have been. Rick McBride, St. Simons,”
