He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Carter Johnson Sr. and Selma Baird Johnson; his wife Sarah "Faith" Thompson Johnson; his siblings, Joe Johnson and Phyllis Johnson; his grandson Jonathan Johnson; and his siblings-in-law, Ruth Greer (James), Mattie Edmisten (Clyde), Ann Brown (Vaughn), Sue Greene, Sophia Safian (Charles), Kathryn Norris (Billy), Boyd Thompson, John Thompson (Mary Lee), Don Thompson (Maude) and Walter Thompson.
He is survived by: his sons, Rudy Charles Johnson (Teresa) of Boone and Ralph Carter Johnson, III (Betty) of Coshocton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Christopher Johnson (May) of Coshocton and Shannon Long of Cincinnati, Ohio.; his great grandchildren, Rilei, Kalei Johnson of Coshocton, Shiloh, Trinity and Haven Long of Cincinnati, Ohio.; and his sister Nell Johnson of Boone.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hampton Funeral Service Chapel (683 Blowing Rock Rd, Boone, NC 28607). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
