She was predeceased by: her husband Allen A. Hampton; her parents, Rev. Clyde Cornett and Blanche Phillips Cornett; her siblings, Len Cornett and Julie Icard; and her siblings-in-law, Yates Icard, Wesley Stevens, Guy of Dan, O. G., John Hampton, Nouel Underwood, Marie Critcher and June Stamey.
She is survived by: her children, Sandy Scott (Brad) of Todd, NC, Lisa Smith (Jeff) of Deep Gap and Jeff Hampton of Boone; her siblings, Johnsie Stevens of Zionville, Merle Adams of Vilas, Jodie Cornett of Mtn, Clint Cornett (Ruth) of Vilas and Blaine Cornett (Leta) of Vilas; her siblings-in-law, Barney S. Hampton (Tommie) of Boone, Betty Cornett of Boone, Betty Hampton Jones of Boone and Effie Hampton; her grandchildren, Meghan Scott of Todd, Aaron Scott (Kennedy) of Whites Creek, TN, Eric Gardner (Julia) of Madison, NJ, Ashley Garder of Savannah, GA, Jeff Smith (Angela) of Boone, Amy Smith (Andy Huf) of Wilmington and Ally Hampton of Lenoir; and her great grandchildren, Cove Scott, Jack, Ethan Gardner, Brennan, Lawson Smith and Abby Huf.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel (683 Blowing Rock Rd, Boone, NC 28607). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
