She was predeceased by: her parents, John Nelson and Lillie Mae Byrd Smith; her former husband Johnny Rominger; her husband Henry Tester; her daughter Linda Rominger Woodard; and her siblings, Peggy Adams, Homer, Ray, Winford, Ed and Johnny Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Tester (Michael Richardson) of Deep Gap and Steve Tester of Valle Crucis; her grandchildren, Katie Tester of Asheville, Betsy Tester of Asheville, Audrey Tester-Betancourt (John) of Tampa, FL, Heidi Tester of Valle Crucis, Michael Eldreth (Trish), Douglas and Wesley Woodard of Morganton; and her sisters, Wanda Hughes of Boone and Janeeta Smith of Boone. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Clarks Creek Baptist Church (902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
