Jack William Groce Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jack William Groce (Boone, North Carolina), who passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur Groce, Sr. and Maude Pinnix Groce; his siblings, Jay Groce, Jettie Ann Groce Johnson, William Arthur Groce Jr. and John Henry Groce; his daughter Lisa Groce; and his grandson Christopher Hodges.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia (Jenny); his children, Doug Groce (Donna) of Salisbury, NC, Amy Hodges (Chris) of Boone and Jack Groce II (Jim) of Weaverville, NC; his sister Peggy Groce Absher of Wilkesboro; his grandchildren, Staci Norris (Seth) and Spencer Hodges (Bailey); and his great grandchildren, Lyla, Aliyah, Will, Parker, Selah Norris, Ava Jane and Graham Hodges of Boone.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Boone United Methodist Church (471 New Market Blvd, Boone, NC 28607).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Watauga High Booster Club, the Appalachian State University Yosef Club, or a church or charity of your choice.
