He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hackett Vannoy and Margaret Baird Vannoy; his wife Grace Cole Vannoy; his siblings, Max, Tommy, Rex, Flake, Wayne Vannoy, Alice Winkler and Barbara Wyatt; and his grandchildren, Matthew Vannoy and Vanessa Vannoy.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Vannoy (Sheila) of Boone, Terry Vannoy (Debra) of Ormond Beach, FL, David Vannoy (Donna) of Palm Coast, FL and Patricia VanHoose (Jeffrey) of Boone; his sister Jane Vannoy of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Natalie Vannoy, Dustin Vannoy of Boone, Darren Vannoy, Samuel Vannoy (Ashley), Chaz VanHoose and Chelsea VanHoose of Boone; and his great grandchildren, Linleigh Vannoy, Lyla, Ava, Micha Vannoy, William, Kaden and Sofia Vannoy.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home & Crematory (194 Queen St, Boone, NC 28607).
