It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hubert Jay Carlton of Boomer, North Carolina, who passed away on January 8, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaither Wiley and Lucy Robbins Carlton; his wife Carolyn Baumgarner Carlton; and his siblings, Rosalee Watson, Violet Hamby, Pearlee Shipley and Robert "Vaughn" Carlton.

He is survived by: his children, Tracy Marley (Lee) of Boomer and Jason Carlton (Melissa Smithey); his grandsons, Cody Marley and Brady Marley; and his sisters, Marlene Marley (Charles "Pat") of Ferguson and Irene Lewis of Boone.
