He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Hicks Crowder; and his brother Farley Crowder. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Carol Parsons of Walnut Cove, Joe Hicks (Marilyn) of Boomer and Roger Hicks of Marion; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Steele (Adam), Joseph Hicks, Matthew Parsons and Megan Parsons; and his siblings, Joyce Vaughn (James), Raymond Crowder of Cripple Creek, Forest Crowder of Cripple Creek and John Crowder of Cripple Creek.
