It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Ferguson Messick (Boomer, North Carolina), who passed away on March 9, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Ferguson and Runie Eller Ferguson; her husband Hoit Messick; and her siblings, Marlene Michael, Reece Eller, Bill Ferguson and Jack Ferguson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Messick of Boone and Catherine Messick of Boomer; her siblings, Wanda Michael (Melvin) of Winston-Salem, Barbara Russell of Winston-Salem, Violet Hartley of Boomer and Tom Ferguson (Joyce); and her sisters-in-law, Iris Ferguson, Claudette Eller of Boomer, Jeanette Haynes of North Wilkesboro, Anne Mourie of Ashtabula, OH and Kaye Welborn of Wilkesboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
