He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Roby and Patricia Roby of Longs, SC.; his wife Judy Simmons Roby; his children, Richard "Ric" William Roby Jr and Kathleen Grace Roby; and his niece Ashley Nicole Poovey.
