He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Roger Dietz and Harriet Atkins Dietz. He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Dietz Burney (Jeffery) of Bladenboro; his former wife Sarah Dietz of Bolton; his siblings, Cliff Dietz of Bolton and Kimberly Shaw of Durham; his niece Mikalah Elliott (Daniel) of Raleigh; and his nephew Tripp Shaw (Renee) of Durham.
