She is survived by: her husband Gordon Shurtleff; her children, Cyndi Leggett of Bolivia and Chuck Leggett (Suzanne) of Shallotte; her grandson Zach Hendricks of Pineville; and her brother Clifford Smith of Butner.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, NC PBS or any charity of your choice.
