It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Sue (Strickland) Hays (Bolivia, North Carolina), born in Cairo, Georgia, who passed away on August 29, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Stickland and Tronnie Bell Stickland; her sisters, Mildred Brookins and Marilyn Quinlan; and her great grandchild Sydni DeVine.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Garrett A. Hays Jr.; her children, Delane Hays DeVine (Steven), Dee Anna Hays, Garrett A. Hays III (Garre) and Gregory Allen Hays; her grandchildren, Mark (Toni), Bryan, DeLaura (Eric), Katie (Bobby), Garrett IV, Dakota and Seanna; her great grandchildren, Cory, Brooklyn, Karmen and Tanner; and her great great grandchild Analeah.
The family requests with gratitude, any donations be made in her name to either Brunswick Islands Baptist Church or SECU Hospice House of Brunswick - Lower Cape Fear (955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422).
