He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucian Kelley Hughes and Frances Emily Holden Hughes; and his siblings, Donald Kelley Hughes and Susan Renee Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Bonita Gore Hughes; his siblings, Darrell Hughes of Burgaw, NC and Karen Glenn of Wilmington, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Gore of Bolivia, NC and Jeanine Hughes of Ash, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
