He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Allen Whisnant and Alpha Martin Whisnant Douglas; and his former wife Linda Bailey Bostic. He is survived by: his sons, Robert Allen Whisnant III (Amanda) of Ellenboro, Joshua Allen Whisnant of Ellenboro, Keith Ryan Whisnant (Amy) of Bostic and Jason Heath Whisnant (Anna) of Weaverville; his siblings, Joseph Whisnant of Ellenboro, Phillip Whisnant and Lynn Whisnant Parton of Florida; his grandchildren, James, Samantha, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Jared, William and Elizabeth Mary-Anna; and his great grandchildren, Wrenley and Paislee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
