We bid farewell to Maida Scruggs of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 21, 2024 at the age of 99. Maida touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hal Bingham Greene and Ola Maye Crabtree Greene; her husband James Horace Scruggs; and her sons, James Hal Scruggs and Horace Elam Scruggs.
She is survived by: her daughters-in-law, Susan Scruggs and Noy Scruggs; her grandchildren, Paula Richards (Billy) of Gaffney, SC, Mark Scruggs (Amy) of Cherryville, NC, Greg Kennedy of Orlando, FL, Leanne Russ of Shelby, Emmett Scruggs of Mooresboro, NC, Amanda McBrayer (late Brad) of Mooresboro, NC, Amelia LaNave (Brandon) of Mooresboro, NC and Michael Scruggs (Jessica) of Boiling Springs, NC; and her sister Carolina Hamrick (Phillip) of Apex, NC. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great- grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Boiling Springs Baptist Church (307 S Main St, Shelby, NC 28152).
