It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of LaLene Washburn of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bulo McKinley Hunt Sr. and Coy Lee Self Hunt; her husband John Washburn, Jr.; and her siblings, Ralph, Jack, Paul, Bulo, Jr., Dee Carter, Lillie Hord, Margie Palm, Mattie Wellmon and Barbara Young.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Kim Washburn of Columbia, SC, Cheryl Ann Washburn of Boiling Springs, NC and John Craig (Diane Washburn) of Boiling Springs, NC; her granddaughter Katie (Rob Gibbs) of Wilmington, NC; her brother-in-law Flay (Martha Washburn); her pet Charla; and her caregivers, Chanel, Kia, Tina, Jeanine, Mabel, Geraldine and DeAshia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
