She was predeceased by: her parents, John Giles and Doris Mae Crenshaw Giles; her daughter Rachel Jeannette Banning; her grandson Joseph Max; and her siblings, John, Michael Giles and Ruth Giles.
She is survived by: her husband Wilbur Max Banning; her son Richard Banning; her granddaughters, Emily and Amelia Elledge-Banning; and her siblings, David Giles of Charlotte, NC, Don Giles (Linda) of Mocksville, NC and Doris Jean Dial of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
