She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Hatley and Zudie Coffey Hatley; her husband Calvin Thomas Rich; her children, Alvin Rich and Jenny Kirby; and her son-in-law Gary Carl Fox.

She is survived by: her children, James Rich of Blowing Rock, Carol Stanton Lenoir (Dennis), Melissa Fox of Banner Elk, Connie Anderson (Derrick) of Purlear and Floretta Rich (Tom Hollar) of Valle Cruses; her sisters, Bonnie Rich and Mable Bristol; and her son-in-law Alan Kirby. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
