He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson Spivey and Martha Collins Spivey; his wife Gladys Ellis; and his siblings, James Spivey and Jean Spivey.
He is survived by: his children, Leona Swain (Ron Grimes), BJ Spivey of Edward and Joel Spivey (Cecy) of Blounts Creek; his siblings, Tommy Spivey (Bonnie) of New Jersey and Marie Wingate of Charleston, SC; and his sister-in-law Shelby Spivey. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Paul Funeral Home - Washington (900 John Small Ave, Washington, NC 27889). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
