He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Keith Mayo and Sandra Kay Toler Mayo; his wife JoAnn Wilson; his children, Eric Mayo of Wilson, Rhiannon Brown (Matthew) of River Bend, Jennifer Rowe (Rod Schultz) of San Franscico, CA and Vonda Wiseman (Bill) of Greenville; his brothers, Paul "Doug" Mayo (Janice) of Blounts Creek and William "Greg" Mayo (Melissa) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Caden, Ella, Max, Sadie, Anna, Griffin, Sam, Lucy and Lincoln; his friend Lon Lewis of New Bern; and his brother Stephen Mayo.
