He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Garland and Rachael Willis Garland; and his siblings, Bessie G. Madden, Norton and James Garland.
He is survived by: his wife Bettie Bennett Garland; his children, Camesha Garland, Reginald Garland (Jessica) of Yanceyville, NC and Robert Garland (Tenaya) of Greensboro, NC; his sisters, Lorene Garland of Blanch, NC, Stella Graves of Blanch, NC, Monnie Glass of Blanch, NC and Cora Turner (Carl) of Reidsville, NC; and his grandchildren, Reagan Garland, Aubree Garland and Reginald Garland II. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.
