With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Poteat of Blanch, North Carolina, who passed away on June 19, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Levi Poteat and Addie Mae Wilkerson Poteat. He is survived by: his wife Jo Angel Carter Poteat of Charlotte; his son Jerrold E. Poteat of Charlotte, NC; his stepdaughters, Keisha N. Cosby of Gibsonville, NC and Corinica Carter (Missy) of Charlotte, NC; and his sisters, Anna "Dee" Poteat and Mary Thaxton (Marcella) of Blanch, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, relatives and friends.
