He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Pait and Louise Pait; his siblings, Jeannette Pait Brooks and James E. Pait; and his son Windell Frederick Pait.

He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Wanda Cummings (Mark) of Midland, Cynthia Wiginton (Jim) of Greenville, S. C., Jonathan Windell Pait (Annette) of Greenville and Suzanne Dersch (Stephen) of Florence; his siblings, Levi Pait of Bladenboro, N. C., Billy Pait of Bladenboro, Jane Pait of Bladenboro and Betty Cummings of Laredo; his grandson Aaron Cummings; and his brothers, Chip Wiginton, Paiton Wiginton, Clay Wiginton, Haddon Wiginton, Jonathan Pait and Josiah Pait. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
