He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Lonnie Gibson and Alma Autry Gibson; and his siblings, W. L. Gibson, Jack Gibson, Buddy Gibson, James Gibson, Mattie Jane Feltwell, Christine Smith, Carol Hewitt and Eula Mae Packer.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Gibson McLean (Bruce) of Bladenboro; his granddaughters, Whitney and Georgianna Mclean; his stepdaughter Debbie Edwards; his stepgrandchildren, LeAnn Hester (Cory) and Sam Edwards; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Maggie Edwards and Holland Hester; and his friend Debbie Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
