She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph P. Smith and Ina Bass Smith; her husband Carl Allen, Sr. (Buddy); her daughter Mary Lois Allen Dowless; and her sisters, Snead Guyton and Ina Sue Odum.
She is survived by: her son Carl Jr. (Ann); her grandchildren, Kelly Allen Evans (Aaron) of Oak Island, Dewayne Dowless of Bladenboro, Carla Allen Wilson (Bryan) of Nashville, NC and Carlton Dowless (Rebecca) of Bladenboro; her great grandchildren, Carly Grace, Alanna, Harper and Ruby; and her brothers, Wade Hamp Smith of Jacksonville, FL and Joseph Murray Smith (Janice) of Raleigh, NC..
