She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Hester and Lila King Hester; her husband Irvin Hester; her siblings, Clara Lennon, Ruby Hester, Marjorie Hickman, Wilbur Hester and Cleo Hester; and her daughter-in-law Joyce Hester.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Hester of Raleigh and Joyce Stewart (Larry) of Charlotte; her sisters, Hazel Forlidas of Sunset Beach and Nancy Hester of Bladenboro; her grandchildren, Jessica Matthews (Guerry), Jeff Hester (Whitney), Jerry Hester (Julia) and Leanne Spicer (Andy); and her great grandchildren, Ben Matthews, Anna Matthews, Jack Hester, Joe Hester, Margaret Hester, Kate Hester, Mac Hester, Reynolds Hester, Daniel Spicer and Hannah Spicer.
