She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilbreth Dock Britt and Columbia Israel Britt; her son Jimmy Ray Hester; her husband James Hester; and her siblings, Betty Jo Inman, Emma Jane Dew, Frances Dew, Dock Britt and Gerial Britt.
She is survived by: her children, Robbie Hester of Bladenboro, Kim Thompson (Billy) of Clarkton and Phyllis Boyd of Bladenboro; her sister Marie Simmons of Hope Mills; and her grandchildren, Kristy West (Jon), Jennifer Bass (Brooks), Kayla Allen (Josh), Keri Hester (Travis), Noelle Thompson, Brooke Meares (Anthony), Kynston Rittenhouse (Savannah), Meghan Baysden (Blake) and Courtney Williams (Thomas). She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
