It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Ruth Lennon Porter of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Elmer Lennon and Dora Johnson Lennon; her husband Ray Porter; her grandson Chay Joshua Porter; and her siblings, Jesse Turner, Nancy Sue Sykes and James Buddy.

She is survived by: her children, Burman Ray Porter Jr. (Robin) of Bladenboro, Jody Porter (Brenda) of St. Paul and Renee P. Bryan (Gary) of Bladenboro; her siblings, Herbert Lennon (Frances) of Dublin, Doretta Melvin (Donald) of White Lake and Marilyn Dent (Edward) of Bladenboro; and her friends, Burman and Robin Porter. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
