It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hilda Hester Coleman of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Hilda Hester had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Hilda Hester may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred G. Hester and Edith Davis Hester; her husband Vollie Coleman; and her brothers, Kendrick, Broadus, Ernest and Ewen.
She is survived by: her children, Al Coleman (Lisa) of Bladenboro, Harriett C. Edwards (Jeff) of Wake Forest and Teresa Coleman of Bladenboro; and her sister-in-law Vonda Hester (Ewen). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home & Cremation Services (3131 M. L. K. Dr, Elizabethtown, NC 28337). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Crest Cemetery.
