It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Butler of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paisley Butler and Lettie Brisson Butler; his children, Dana and Herbert; his siblings, Creston, Harvey, Ezra "Slim" Butler, Mae Lewis, Bertha Meares, Margie Lewis, Artie Smith and Valerie Butler; and his sons, Lamont and Elton Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Fowler Butler; his daughter Glenda Dale Kirkland of Bladenboro; his siblings, Lee Butler (Brenda) of Bladenboro, Alvin Butler of Bladenboro and Nora Smith of Bladenboro; his grandchildren, Kimberly Barkhurst (Joe) of New Bern and Christopher Kirkland of Cameron; and his great grandchildren, Kristano and Kaley.
