He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Severine and Viola Lowery Severine; and his siblings, Bit, Jimmy, Leroy, Peewee, Annie Jane, Carlene and Hilda.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Severine (Mashelle) of Bladenboro, Eric Dow (Patricia) of Lumberton and Charlene Hatch of Bladenboro; and his grandchildren, Ricky, Savanna, Natalie, Noel, Chloe, Richard Jr., Eric Jr., Travis, Wyatt and Luke. He is also survived by two great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
