She was predeceased by: her parents, Eula Keith and Walter Bryant Leonard. She is survived by: her husband John David Ellis; her sons, Kirk David of Lumberton and Keats Leonard; and her siblings, Gail Nelms (Gerald), Dan Leonard (Joan) and Kathy Gupton (Ray). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
After retiring, she taught the Adult Sunday School class at the church until the pandemic.
