She was predeceased by: her parents, Harmon E. Merritt and Katie Dent Merritt; her husband William Curtis Cain Sr.; her son William Curtis "Sam" Cain Jr.; and her sisters, Bessie Barr, Helen Carter, Katie Smart and Carolyn Merritt.
